Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 30, 2026

The Skeleton Key Social Club (“Skeleton Key,” “the Club,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects the privacy of our members, guests, event attendees, applicants, and website visitors.

Our philosophy is simple: what happens behind the door should be treated with discretion.

This Privacy Policy describes how information may be collected, used, stored, and disclosed when you visit our website, apply for membership, RSVP for or purchase admission to an event, communicate with us, or participate in Club activities.

Information We Collect

We may collect information you voluntarily provide, including your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, date of birth or age confirmation, membership information, event reservations, guest information, communication preferences, payment-related transaction information, and information submitted through membership applications or contact forms.

Our website and service providers may also automatically collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referral source, cookies, and similar usage information.

Payment card information may be processed by third-party payment providers. Skeleton Key should avoid storing complete payment-card information directly unless necessary and handled through an appropriately secured payment system.

How We Use Information

Information may be used to administer memberships; process applications, reservations, ticket purchases, and payments; communicate about events; verify eligibility or age when appropriate; manage member and guest access; provide customer service; maintain Club security; prevent fraud or misuse; improve our website and programming; send promotional communications where permitted; and comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell membership lists merely because someone joins the Club.

New Jersey Privacy Rights

The New Jersey Data Privacy Law became effective January 15, 2025. For businesses subject to the law, New Jersey consumers have rights that can include confirming whether their personal data is processed, accessing or correcting information, requesting deletion, and opting out of certain sales, targeted advertising, and profiling. New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs

Where the law applies to Skeleton Key, requests may be submitted through the contact method designated on this website.

We will authenticate and respond to qualifying requests in accordance with applicable law.

Cookies & Analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies necessary to operate the site and, depending on the services we deploy, for analytics, performance measurement, advertising, or personalization.

Where required, visitors will be provided with appropriate choices concerning nonessential cookies and certain uses of their information.

Photography & Events

Skeleton Key events may occasionally be photographed or recorded.

When official photography or videography is planned, we may provide notice at registration, ticket purchase, event entry, or through event signage.

We respect that some members and guests prefer discretion. Where practicable, guests should be given a reasonable way to inform Club staff that they do not wish to be intentionally featured in promotional photography.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information.

However, no website, electronic transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate Club operations, membership administration, accounting, security, dispute resolution, contractual obligations, and applicable legal requirements.

Third-Party Services

Our website may use third-party providers for functions such as ticketing, reservations, payment processing, email communications, website hosting, analytics, and social media.

Those providers may process information under their own privacy policies and contractual obligations.

Children

The Club's website, membership program, and adult-oriented events are not intended for children. Certain events may be designated for adults only.

Changes to This Policy

We may revise this Privacy Policy as our services, technology, or legal obligations change.

The effective date appearing at the top of the policy should be updated whenever a material revision is made.

CLUB RULES & HOUSE POLICY

Good People. Good Energy. Behind Closed Doors.

Skeleton Key is designed to provide an intimate social environment built around hospitality, dining, cocktails, music, conversation, and community.

Membership or admission is a privilege subject to the Club's rules and applicable law.

  1. 1. Respect the Room. Members and guests are expected to treat other guests, staff, performers, chefs, vendors, and the property respectfully. Harassment, threats, fighting, intimidation, unwanted sexual conduct, discrimination, or deliberately disruptive behavior will not be tolerated.

  2. 2. Membership Is Personal. Membership credentials, invitations, access codes, tickets, reservations, or other access privileges may not be transferred, duplicated, sold, or shared unless expressly permitted by Skeleton Key.

  3. 3. Members Are Responsible for Their Guests. When guest privileges are offered, the inviting member is expected to ensure that their guests understand and follow Club policies.

  4. 4. Age Requirements Apply. Admission to events involving alcoholic beverages may be restricted to persons 21 years of age or older. Valid government-issued identification may be required.

  5. 5. Alcohol Is Served Responsibly. Alcohol may be sold, served, possessed, and consumed only as permitted by applicable New Jersey law and the license or permit applicable to the premises or event. Club membership itself does not create a right to purchase or receive alcohol.

Union Township expressly prohibits unlicensed alcohol sales or distribution. eCode360 New Jersey ABC also provides Social Affair Permits for qualifying events; online applications generally must be submitted at least 21 days before an event, with municipal clerk and police endorsement involved in the process. Njoag

  6. 6. Intoxicated Guests May Be Refused Service or Entry. Club personnel or the applicable licensed alcohol provider may refuse alcohol service or continued admission when appropriate for safety or legal compliance.

  7. 7. No Outside Alcohol Unless Specifically Authorized. Guests may not bring alcoholic beverages onto the premises unless Skeleton Key expressly permits it and doing so complies with applicable licensing and BYOB requirements.

Union Township's Clerk currently lists a specific BYOB process among its online forms, so BYOB should not be presented as automatically permitted. Union Township

  8. 8. Food Safety Comes First. Food preparation and service will be conducted subject to applicable health requirements. Union Township's Health Department maintains food and temporary-food licensing/application processes. Union Township

  9. 9. Occupancy Limits Must Be Respected. Event attendance may never exceed the lawful occupancy established for the premises. Exits, aisles, fire protection equipment, and emergency access areas must remain unobstructed.

  10. 10. Keep the Speakeasy Discreet. Members and guests should respect the privacy of others. Do not photograph, record, livestream, or publish identifiable images of another guest in circumstances where the person has reasonably requested privacy.

  11. 11. No Weapons or Illegal Activity. Illegal drugs, unlawful weapons, violence, theft, vandalism, solicitation, and other unlawful conduct are prohibited.

  12. 12. Dress Codes May Apply. Individual events may establish attire requirements consistent with the character of the event. Requirements will be communicated before the event whenever practical.

  13. 13. Smoking and Vaping. Smoking and vaping are permitted only where allowed by New Jersey law and any applicable Club or premises rules.

  14. 14. Protect the Space. Members and guests are responsible for damage they intentionally cause or cause through reckless conduct, to the extent permitted by law.

  15. 15. Reservations & Seating. Reservations do not necessarily guarantee a particular table, chair, or location unless specifically stated. For intimate dinners, seating may be assigned to create the intended shared-table experience.

  16. 16. Event Changes. Menus, chefs, performers, entertainment, schedules, and programming may occasionally change. Material cancellation and refund terms should be disclosed with the particular event.

  17. 17. Removal From the Premises. Skeleton Key may require a person to leave for violating Club rules, creating a safety concern, disrupting an event, or violating applicable law.

  18. 18. Membership Suspension or Termination. Membership may be suspended or terminated for material or repeated violations of Club rules. Your membership agreement should separately specify whether dues are refundable following suspension or termination.

  19. 19. Applicable Law Controls. Club policies do not supersede federal, New Jersey, Union County, or Township of Union requirements. Where a Club policy conflicts with applicable law, the law controls.

MEMBERSHIP POLICY

The Key Is Earned. The Experience Is Shared.

Membership in The Skeleton Key Social Club is intended to create a consistent community rather than simply provide admission to individual events.

Applications may be reviewed according to legitimate Club membership criteria, capacity, event format, and the applicant's agreement to Club policies.

Membership does not guarantee admission to every event, a reservation at every dinner, complimentary food or beverages, alcoholic beverage service, or access beyond the capacity established for a particular event.

Membership privileges may include advance event access, member pricing, priority reservations, private programming, member-and-guest events, special dining experiences, and other benefits announced by the Club.

Benefits may evolve as the Club grows.

Membership should never be represented as circumventing state or municipal liquor, health, fire, zoning, occupancy, entertainment, or licensing requirements.

EVENT & RESERVATION POLICY

Tickets and reservations are valid only for the event, date, and number of guests specified at purchase.

For limited-capacity dinners, tickets may become nonrefundable after a clearly disclosed cutoff because food, staffing, entertainment, and ingredients are committed in advance.

When Skeleton Key cancels an event entirely, the applicable ticket or reservation terms should specify whether guests receive a refund, credit, or rescheduled admission.

Guests should inform the Club of allergies or dietary restrictions when booking. The Club should make reasonable efforts to accommodate disclosed requests but should not guarantee an allergen-free environment unless it can actually provide one.

Guests attending events involving alcohol must comply with applicable identification and age requirements.
